Global Youth Service Day was a very productive day around the Collbran Job Corps Center. Collbran Job Corps students participated with several members of the city of Collbran, including city council members and employees of the State Highway Department. There main areas of focus were to clean significant debris from the Plateau Creek which feeds into the Colorado River, trim trees along State Highway 330, and sweeping streets of Collbran. of Collbran. In addition, an emergency crew of Collbran Job Corps students has been trained and is on alert as members of sandbag crews if the Colorado River and/or Plateau Creek were to rise to dangerous levels.
