When Rebecca Schowalter, Purchasing Agent, ordered supplies from Grand Junction’s Lowes, she made friends with Gary Koney, Sales Manager, and Larry Nelson, Commercial Sales Specialist, inviting them to attend the center’s Community Relations dinner. Koney and Nelson did, and returned to the center with Mike Carter, District Commercial Accounts Specialist, who traveled four and one-half hours from Denver, to tour the center. Carter sent Schowalter an email, “The program and facility are certainly impressive, but the 3 young men (Job Corps students) who conducted our tour were absolutely amazing. I couldn’t get them out of my head all evening. Lowe’s is committed to assisting Collbran Job Corps in any way we can.”
