Certified Nurse Assistant May Be for You.
The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) is one of the most important and rewarding roles in the health field. Not only do CNAs assist in daily activities such as personal care, vital signs, transportation, charting, and pre/post-operative care, they also have the most direct contact with patients during their stay. The one-on-one engagements CNAs have with patients is vital to patients’ medical directives and recovery.
The Cleveland Job Corps Center (CJCC) CNA course is accredited by Ohio Department of Health. CNA Instructors Jameka Bloom and Carla Widener have over 20 years of healthcare training experience teaching. The CNA program is approximately a three-month course that includes a one-hundred-and-eighty-hour clinical internship.
The course prepares students to work in clinics, nursing homes, hospitals, home health, doctors’ offices, and assisted living agencies. Unlike other careers that may be declining, nursing careers are on the rise, and the job market is wide open as the need for people in this field increases daily.

The course also covers how to care for patients who are impaired and have mental health illnesses. In addition, students gain understanding of residential rights, safety and emergency preparation, and legal and ethics issues.
Allied Health certification includes: State Tested Nursing Assistant certifications (STNA), First Aide, ServSafe, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Home Health Aide, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. Furthermore, upon completion of the course students can enroll in Job Corps’ Advanced Training Licensed Practical Nursing at no cost.
