My heart overflows with happy flutters and HOPE for a better future today.  Had the honor to  monitor lunch time at our Cafeteria today.  Here at our Cleveland Job Corps Center (CJCC); since transitioning into the Business Community Liaison position, I had not seen my students on Center. To see our Cafeteria filling up with students ,during lunch hour, the opportunity to greet and meet our new on board students was amazingly gratifying.  Saying “hi”  to those that have returned;  endearing.   Then  to be able to open up our REC bldg. for students to “shoot hoops”, play video games, or just sit and “chill” with class mates, after lunch,, was so refreshing. 12 students graced me with meaningful conversation.  Happy and surprised to see Ms. Espada, “abuela” as I am known  on Center.  New students opened up to “Abuela” Espada’s introductions and it was so exciting to embrace the reality that our Center is headed towards growth again.  One small cohort at a time.  New students sharing their transition from virtual students to residential.  Here at CJCC, we are upward bound…towards student SUCCESS!
