Diversity, inclusion and culture
A folkloric and very colorful ride you will not want to miss. Here at CJCC. As we explore the culture of Puerto Rico for starters.  The Puerto Rican culture has been greatly influenced by its history. With the magnificent blend of Taino Indians, Spanish and African cultures, comes a melting pot of people and traditions we will explore.  By student and staff, popular demand on Center, after this long hiatus through COVID, and a new student body on board, our Spanish Club “ESPERANZA” with HOPE for a Better Future Today – kicks off once again; in gear and ready to roll.  Our students and staff will have an opportunity to experience great adventures and mega fun, participating in the upcoming Puerto Rican Parade.  As a “teasure” in our gathering, tonight. On Thursday, July 14th, our students had the opportunity to hear some history about the festive and colorful costumes they will have the honor to dress up in.  At first they were shy. And reluctant to attend our planning, “show & tell meeting. Yet, once they saw the costumes, they lightened up and take a look…magic happened. Frowns transformed into SMILES and curiosity.  As Ms. Nebeska Aviles, representative of the Puerto Rican Parade Committee, and Erik Melendez, representing the Hispanic Police Officers Association, hailing from the heart of Cleveland, joined us on Center, in the Theater, in our
Recreation Center, to share the Magic in store, for those that participate.  Our CJCC students, sure got a taste of what it feels like to dress up in folkloric colorful costumes…take a look…
