CLEVELAND JOBCORPS 1st ANNUAL GOSPEL EXPLOSION

CLEVELAND JOBCORPS 1st ANNUAL GOSPEL EXPLOSION

Cleveland Job Corps Center (CJCC) Residential Advisor, Ronda Carter dreamed of having a “Gospel Explosion” at the Center, so she discussed her vision with the Center Director, William Hou-ston. “Make it happen,” said Mr. Hou-ston. Elated and eager to get started, Ms. Carter enlisted the help of Cheryl Harris and Calvin Smiley.
The Gospel Explosion debuted the CJCC Choir, featured selections from Pil-grim Community Church of God Choir and solos from CJCC Security Manager, David Wynne; CJCC Residential Advisor, Janisha Randolph,; Anita Bonner; Angela Carpenter (Greater Strong Tower Apostolic Church); and Glenda Silpot CJCC student. Broadview Heights High student, Marcus Long (Good Shepherd Baptist Church) presented Praise through Mime, and the CJCC Praise Queens performed Praise Dancing. Elder, Valarie Landrum provided Praise and Wor-ship, and Minister, Bronsen Landrum was the Keynote Speaker, both attend Zi-on Spring United Holy Church.
The CJCC student body and staff came together in worship and praise. “It was uplifting, rejuvenating and encouraging,” Carter said. “The Gospel Explosion was a huge success. When you combine eager hearts and the power of music, you can expect a willingness to grow, change, and a deep hunger for knowing God more fully”.
On behalf of Ms. Carter and CJCC, we extend our sincere gratitude and appreci-ation to the visiting ministers, singers, speakers, and performers. Many Thanks to the Gospel Explosion committee, decorating committee, recreation staff, so-cial development staff, security, setup/cleanup crew, and all CJCC staff and stu-dents. “You all blessed my heart with all that you contributed in making the 1st Annual Gospel Explosion a huge success,” stated Ms. Carter.
