CLEVELAND JOB CORPS UNCF 5K WALK/RUN FOR EDUCATION

Students and employees from the Cleveland Job Corps Center joined community organizations from throughout Northeast Ohio for the UNCF 5K Walk/Run for Education fundraiser on Satur-day, July 23, 2016. The event was hosted by the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), and The Cleveland Council of Black Colleges Alumni Association at Cleveland Metro-parks, North Chagrin Reservation – Strawberry Picnic Area in Willoughby Hills, Ohio. The goal of the fundraiser is to help make education accessible to students by eliminating some of the financial barriers by providing much-needed college scholarship money. The event successfully had over 250 participants and raised over $6,500 that will be allocated to scholarships for students as they pursue a de-gree in their perspective fields of study. Cleveland Job Corps is committed to the education of ALL young bright minds and in support of the more than 60,000 stu-dents who receive UNCF scholarships and attend college each year.
