Akron native Richauna Porter began taking the Medical Administrative Assistant course at the Cleveland Job Corps Center on June 17, 2019. In a little over five months, she finished the program earning certifications in Medical Administration, Serve Safe and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). She served on the Student Government Association, joined the book club, and joined the dance team. She received the Student of the Month Award and volunteered in her spare time.

Richauna is beginning a new chapter in her career at Transportation Communications Union (TCU)/IAM at the Potomac Job Corps Center on December 11, 2019. She is enrolled in the Airline Steward program. Richauna recommends students stay on task, do their work, and not be afraid to ask for help.

After Richauna completes her training at TCU, she plans to open a business. “Several people inspire me, but the Medical Administration Assistant Instructor Kemoyia pushed me to do more than I thought I could and would not let me give up,” stated Richauna. “She actually cares.”
