On November 27, 2017, a very determined Sollie Cochran walked through the doors of the Cleveland Job Corps Center ready to succeed. He earned his high school diploma from Penn Foster, in addition to the ServSafe, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation /First Aid, and Home Health Aide certifications. He completed the Medical Office Support (MOS) and State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) trades and secured the licensure for both. “Something as simple as following directions and paying attention will help get you certified,” explained Sollie.

Sollie graduated from the Cleveland Job Corps Center on August 17, 2018. He is working full-time as a State Tested Nursing Assistant at Wickliffe Country Place. He plans to get his own apartment soon. Although he had attendance issues in a traditional school setting, Sollie shined at the Cleveland Job Corps Center. He extends his gratitude to Academic Instructor, Shelly Trapp and State Tested Nurse Instructor, Jameka Bloom for helping him succeed. “They both showed me tough love, and believed in me so much,” stated Sollie.
