Committed to pursuing a better future and obtaining opportunities for himself, on Janu-ary 5, 2015, Dashawn White joined the Cleveland Job Corps Center Family. With a new mindset and newly established goals, Mr. White proceeded to obtain his High School Diploma, Facilities Maintenance certification, and driver’s license. Through a partnership between Cleveland Job Corps and TRI-C Community College, Mr. White continued his education and earned his certification in Precision Machine and CNC Machinist from TRI-C Community College on December 15, 2016, while enrolled at the Cleveland Job Corps Center.
On December 6, 2016, Mr. White procured a full-time Test Holder position at Hose Masters making $13 per hour. He recently purchased a car and stated that he has a new outlook on life. “I stayed on campus because CJCC kept me focused and allowed me not to have to worry about everyday struggles,” stated White.
Mr. White is determined to push himself for even greater successes and achievements. He explained that Job Corps was a stepping stone for him to prove to himself that he could do it. He plans to save money to get his own apartment, and eventually return to college to further his education. “Stay true to your dreams and you will never fail,” advises Mr. White to current and incoming Job Corps students.
