After graduating from Cleveland Heights High School, Isaiah’s Flowers mother began noticing that her son had too much time on his hands. So, she recommended that he consider enrolling in the Job Corps program. “Two months after my mother planted the seed, I came to Job Corps to check it out,” said Flowers. Although the idea of gaining the skills that could aid him in helping to take care of his grandmother was in the forefront of his mind, Isaiah was still apprehensive about studying as a Nursing Assistant, due to the vast hands-on and personal care involved.
Enrolling in the Cleveland Job Corps Center as a nonresident on October 6, 2015, he recalled his first day in CPP. “I recall meeting quite a few nice people that day, the first staff members I remember meeting were Mr. Houston and Ms. Artis, both of which I felt were cool individuals,” recounted Mr. Flowers.
Upon receiving information that the Nursing Assistant trade was full, he decided to study Medical Office Support. After finishing the Medical Office Support trade, Mr. Flowers enrolled in the Nursing Assistant trade. On May 23, 2016, he had accomplished what he had came for,  he completed the Nursing Assistant trade. He began his off-center clinical rotation with Rogers Home Care Center and obtained 75 hours of clinical training. Mr. Flowers said the fulfillment and satisfaction he received from providing hands-on care to his assigned residents resolved his initial apprehensions.
Mr. Flowers has recently gained employment with A Devoted Touch Home Health Care Agency in Solon, OH. “To know Isaiah, is to know that he has a very caring and compassionate soul and it only made sense that pairing him up with health care was a grand idea,” explained Cleveland Job Corps Center Nursing Assistant, Jameka Bloom
