CLEVELAND JOB CORPS SAFETY FAIR

CLEVELAND JOB CORPS SAFETY FAIR

On June 24, 2016, the Cleveland Job Corps Center hosted their annual Safety Fair from 10:30am-1:30pm for students and staff. The Of-fice of Job Corps, under the National Safety Council’s designation, observes the month of June as Universal Safety Month. Throughout the month of June, Job Corps centers organize events designed to increase students’ awareness of safety issues. The Cleveland Job Corps Cen-ter Safety Fair provided students and staff with safety tips and tools to prevent incidents before they happen by recognizing hidden hazards.
Cleveland Job Corps Center’s Safety, Security and Transportation Manager Jewel Clark, Security Officer Belinda Bray and the Student Safety Cadets teamed up with the Cleveland Fire Department, Cleveland 5th District Police Department, Domestic Violence & Child Advocacy Center, Collaborative to End Human Trafficking, several public safety agencies and local businesses to offer important safety information to students.
The event allowed the students an opportunity to engage in hands-on interac-tion safety presentations, view educational exhibits and converse with safety professionals. The event also provided students with an opportunity to learn about community resources available to them and aid with developing associa-tions with local safety and security personnel. The Cleveland Job Corps Center is committed to providing a safe, non-violent campus.
