CLEVELAND JOB CORPS NEON GUEST SPEAKER

On June 23, 2016, Pharmacy Director Mike Sreshta from the Neon Health Center, visited the Cleveland Job Corps Center. Sreshta spoke to Jessica Welch’s Pharmacy Technology class and Carla Widener and Jameka Bloom’s Nursing Assistant classes on the importance of recog-nizing diabetic risk factors for proper patient care. He also discussed the different types of diabetes (Type I and Type II) and their effects on the body. Students received information about diabetes symptoms (blurred vision, high blood pressure, excessive loss or gain of weight), benefits of early detection, management and treatment. Sreshta outlined how students could prevent Type 2 diabetes with a proper diet and regular exercise. “This lecture was very informative,” stated Ms. Welch. “I am very thankful for the time and efforts of Mr. Sreshta.
