Cleveland Job Corps Employer Open House

Management Training Corporation (MTC), in collaboration with Serrato Corporation and Horizon Youth Services, hosted an Employer Open House Luncheon at the Cleveland Job Corps Center on September 27, 2018. The luncheon was organized by MTC’s Cleveland Career Transition Specialist, YaShieka Paige and Brianna Dennis for employer development efforts. The goal was to create new employment opportunities for Job Corps graduates and show the multifaceted hidden jewel to organizations that were unaware of its existence or mission.

The event brought attendees from the counties of Cuyahoga, Lorain, Lake, and Ashtabula. Representatives from The Weils, Montefiore, Goodwill Ready of Lake County, Goodwill Ready of Ashtabula County, Brewer-Garrett Company, The Reserves Network, A Devoted Touch, Quick Employment, Ametco Mfg. Corp., The Help Foundation, Hose Master, Allied Universal, Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority, Painesville City Schools, and Minute Man Staffing were all in attendance. 

The luncheon commenced with presentations from Cleveland Job Corps Center Director, William Houston and MTC Career Transition Specialist, Brianna Dennis. The event was followed by lunch and tours of the campus led by MTC Admissions Counselor, Ms. Melody Harvey and Horizon Education Career Transition Readiness Counselor, Mr. Sean Singleton.
“This event was an opportunity for the Cleveland Job Corps Center to showcase the great work which happens every day. Employers who attended had nothing but positive feedback and were eager to work with Cleveland Job Corps in different capacities. Long lasting partnerships were formed which ultimately will lead to a better employment experience for Job Corps Graduates,” stated MTC Career Transition Specialist, Brianna Dennis.
