The Cleveland Job Corps Center would like to commend Erika Lottier and La’Stassia Sham-ble’tell for being accepted into AmeriCorps. AmeriCorps is a program of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), an independent federal agency whose mission is to improve lives, strengthen com-munities, and foster civic engagement through service and volunteering (retrieved from http://www.nationalservice.gov/).
Cleveland Job Corps Center Career Transition Readiness Coordinator, Denneth Campbell assisted Erika Lottier and La’Stassia Shamble’tell with the AmeriCorps process. In September 2016, both ladies received AmeriCorps Verification Letters informing them that they were accepted into the program and would began serving as full-time AmeriCorps NCCC members with the Southwest Region in Denver, Colorado on October 11, 2016.
Twenty-one-year-old Clevelander, Erika Lottier enrolled in the Cleveland Job Corps Center on January 4, 2016. She completed the Job Corps pro-gram with a certification in Sign and Display on Sep-tember 28, 2016. After completing the AmeriCorps program, Ms. Lottier plans to enroll at Cuyahoga Community College to pursue a Business degree. She stated that she had a very good experience at Cleveland Job Corps and it helped her to grow and mature.
