Cleveland Job Corps Center Health and Wellness Medical and Dental Clerk, Rolanda Wilson coordinated and hosted a Health Fair on Thursday, October 6, 2016, for the students and staff. Fifteen community vendor representatives from the Aids Task Force of Greater Cleveland, Cleveland Clinic Cerebrovascular and Neu-rological Institute were in attendance. Steph-anie Tubbs Jones Health Center, NEON, the City of Cleveland Department of Public Health, Care Source, American Sickle Cell Anemia Association, Recovery Resources and more performed health screenings, provided guidance, and offered educational in-formation to attendees. Cleveland Job Corps Health and Wellness Manager, Trabienne Franklin administered flu shots; and Nurse Assistant Instructor Angela Laureano, and her nurse aide students measured participant’s vital signs. The Cleve-land Job Corps cafeteria provided all healthy snacks, sandwiches and drinks.
Many of the vendors stated that they always enjoy participating in the Health Fair. Some have even committed to attending next year’s Health Fair, as well as any future endeavors to educate and prepare Job Corps students in maintaining their health. The Cleveland Job Corps Center Health and Wellness Department would like to thank everyone who assisted in making the Health Fair a huge success, as well as all the participants for their support.
