Business Community Liaison “so proud of our students”…
I am so proud of our students. Each one, all 16 of them, assumed a “leadership roll” this weekend… but especially on Sunday, 08-06-2023. I’m so proud! Thank you so much for your service to our community. Thank you so much for your dedication and discipline in representing our center. And your caring and watching out for each other, while you all marched in unisom and formation at the Parade and Festivities that followed.
“You plus me equals we”. And WE are proud of you. Water runners, poster patrol. Flag bearers, taking turns holding that flag, announcing our OPEN ENROLLMENT. Front line carriers of our display. Promoting Job Corps. Holding and Waving posters and signage carriers. Passing out flyers. Representing Job Corps well. Thank you!
Thank you for taking care and watching out for each others well-being during the parade and on grounds at the festivities.
For obediently checking in at our table to ensure your safety and well-being. For staying in touch via phone calls. Your initiative was amazing!
Special mention to Mr. Tagliarini, our Brick Laying, instructor, who volunteered his Sunday to be our 2nd chauffeur, chaperone and supporter at this event. He is amazingly vested in the education and well rounded growth of our student body. And to Ms George, our Outreach & Admissions Counselor. (OAC) Who covered our Outreach table and chaperoned our students, impromptu, on festivities grounds. Thank you. To Ms. Webster, and Ms. O., both OAC’s from our Outreach Dept. who, together covered our Outreach table on Saturday with smiling and welcoming faces. Thank you. To Mr. Furlow-Munn, our OAC Dept. Manager, for all the multiple “behind the scenes” detailed work it takes to coordinate participation. A huge thank you to Mr Parries, Property Manager, who saved the day by allowing me to obtain the tee shirts for our students from the warehouse with Mr. Munn’s authorization. Thank you. A big applause to Ms Tyson, Finance & Administrative Director, who procured and ensured, we had the funding for students meals, on target. Thank you. To the Social Development Dept. Staff for “behind the scenes engaging logistics” and overcoming “politics”. Not an easy task, behind the scenes. Thank you. To all the students that assumed, on their own, “leadership roles”, solution focused, during the planning and execution of all intricate details to make our participation in this event happen. Thank you. It did not go unnoticed.
But, especially a Special Thank You, to Dashawna Hopkins, a student who took over on her own, assisting me with “recruiting students” and reminding them to attend informative “briefing” meetings. And ensuring they attended. Where all the “do’s and don’ts” were thoroughly informed. To ensure the “well-being and safety” of our students participating off grounds discussing all the “whys behind ” the importance in conducting and engaging in Outreach events. The reasoning behind Outreach. Where students have an opportunity to reach out, in our on-going campaign, “everyone find one” to “pass forward” what by grace was given unto them. A Free Education and Training opportunity.
Thanks to Ekiyah Stoudmire, Student Government President, who also joined us last minute, yet right on time. She joined us with enthusiasm and excitement, in our Outreach initiative, and endeavored to embrace on her own, recruiting several students to replace those that dropped off attending, last minute, for one reason or another. And we ended up with 16 out of the 15 projected, to attend, and out of the 30 that showed interest in attending. Dispite the early departure requirement. I was so impressed that all showed up. plus 1 we were able to space wise accommodate.
Thanks to our Food Services staff who prepared and provided our students “on the go” breakfast/snacks” and water for hydration.
You all did an amazing job in making this happen. Upfront and or behind the scenes. Representing our Cleveland Job Corps Center very well. Even all those behind the scenes, by just doing your job duties with a smile and courtesy. Redirecting me, to who could assist me, with “that, this or the other”. If whatever I was asking of you, was not your responsibility. There is no “I” in TEAM. Together. Everyone. Accomplishes More.
Sometimes the littlest thing, is the most cause affecting and important to handle. It certainly takes a Village. And I thank you for being a part of mine. I am a department of one. So I need my Village and all you do to make things happen here on Center and beyond. Solution focused. Which is a sign of GREAT LEADERSHIP. 101% on
And for that, and each one of you that I approached and or pestered, and you as my Village assisted me in this endeavor, I am grateful. Thank you. for turning my frowns upside down as I had to face, endure and resolve the glitches of organizing and executing a venture of this magnitude, we have participated in since 2019.
For all the above, and much
more, THANK YOU. my shining stars, that assisted me and ensured our students shined at the Parade. Thank you! You made a huge diffence in whatever, you did to make it happen; as in years before …thank you again, as it “far outweighs” all that went wrong or outside of what had been planned.
To TOP IT OFF, students feedback was…
JYFUL and Happy …and that is all that matters! Because we are here to ensure our students SUCCESS…that all that cross our gates will also CROSS OUR GRADUATE STAGE. Well rounded and prepared to reach their highest potential.
