…imagine the possibilities is an Alumni on Board initiative to bring in  Successful Alumni that will serve as influencers towards our student body.  They will come on board and speak their story to inspire and encourage our student body to exert greater effort, with enthusiasm, and creativity and awaken a feeling of HOPE and belief,  that they too can succeed.  This initiative is conducted via a virtual meeting as a Social Skills Training on Closed Dorms Wednesdays.  Once a   month  on the 2nd Wednesday of every month hereon.  With hopes that we can bring the alumni on board in person one day post COVID .  Our very own alumna, Ms. Shirley Hogue, who is a current Residential Counselor on Center in the dorms will be spearheading this initiative.  Our 1st guest alumna speaker was Ms. Ja’Sonya Cousins, 2013, CJCC graduate from Detroit, Michigan who now a days is the owner of her very own clothing company that creates custom clothing, modest in nature.  Called, “Humble Heart” clothing.  And she chairs a Non Profit organization, based out of Detroit, Michigan.  “I am SHE”. Supporting as a sisterhood initiative,  the needs of young women; ages 16 and up. Ja’Sonya is an STNA graduate who is using her skills to maximize her potential in the service of others in her community and beyond.   Our first gathering was successful. Students posed excellent questions and had an opportunity to receive transparent answers from not one, but two alumni, that have walked a million steps and beyond in the shoes that our new student body are walking in now…imagine the possibilities.
