All that we do, is a teaching to learn opportunity

All that we do, is a teaching to learn opportunity

Ms. Wally Espada, the center “Abuela” grandma to all students, exhorts you to see the beauty of life in these pictures; and if you can, it is because beauty is within you. You see, “the world is a mirror that reflects the beauty within us”.
Our Job Corps students underneath the “Vegigante and Cabezudo” costumes, certainly discovered and saw the beauty reflected within themselves, Sunday evening 08-21-2022, and enjoyed an evening of Joyful folkloric dancing at “La Placita” Festival. Thanks to Nebeska Aviles for providing the costumes. And “La Placita” team for including the Cleveland Job Corps Center (CJCC) to once more give our Social Development Department, the opportunity of a lifetime for our CJCC students to integrate themselves into a cultural diversity atmosphere within our community, where the idea that every individual has a unique and positive contribution to make to our societies by valuing cultural diversity, “is of essence towards our student’s growth and social development”. As here at our CJCC we support learning about each other and understanding others that are not the same as each of us are. We value and teach uniqueness respecting, honoring and learning what makes us all unique human beings.  Embracing the importance of all contributions of Joy in our lives from different cultures that make our societies so rich, is the essence of our Diversity Club “ESPERANZA” HOPE 4 a Better Future Today- here on Center. Affirms Ms. Espada, Business Community Liaison, aka “Abuela”.  Students under the costumes are: Jadon Wade, state Tested Nurse Assistant (STNA), Clinical Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA), Vivian Kelly, Student Government Association President, (SGA) Cynquana James, SGA Diversity Officer, Shantell Steed, SGA Secretary, Janaya Smoot, Pharmacy Technician (PT), (STNA), Ryan Nichols, Facilities Maintenance, and Demetrius Patterson, Clinical Nurse Aide, (CNA).  And our very own Center “Abuela” Ms. Espada as Celia Cruz-  At CJCC our students work hard in their trades of choice. So, it is just right that they also play hard during evenings and weekends on their Leisure Learning time. While at the same time, conducting Outreach and Community Service. Placing our Cleveland Job Corps Center in the spotlight. As we are now actively and aggressively enrolling students. Diverse fun time with a splash of cultural awareness. Always learning.
