Recent Clearfield Job Corps graduate, Norma Dominguez Aguirre, has won the MTC Scholarship award for 2018. With this award she receives a certificate as well as a $1000 scholarship for college. Norma has completed both the Pharmacy Technician trade and the Certified Nursing Assistant trade. Norma is currently enrolling in Weber State University and will start classes in the fall of 2018.

When Norma received the news she won the MTC Scholarship Award she heard from friends and thought it was unreal until she received calls and emails from staff at the Clearfield Job Corps Center. “I couldn’t believe it, at first I thought it was a mistake, but it was really shocking to read the email saying I won”, Norma said. Since graduating CJCC she has stayed in the local area and is currently working 3 jobs, she is using her pharmacy technician training she received at the center to be a pharmacy technician at Walgreen’s.

Norma has stated that Job Corps has helped her grow and has given her a huge support system. While on center she was a mentor and a dorm president. Norma plans to go to Weber State University to complete her associates degree and further her education by going into either Sports Nutrition or Sports Medicine for her bachelors degree.
