Culinary Arts students win award for the second year by providing lunch, laughs, and aiding those with special needs

The annual Laughs at Lunch at the Ogden Marriott Hotel in support of EnableUtah was held Thursday, October 25. Members of the community had an opportunity to help people with disabilities get jobs, while at the same time enjoy an entertaining lunch.

The event featured lunches prepared by Ogden chefs and a comedy show by Keith Stubbs, owner of Ogden’s Wiseguys Comedy Club.

In addition to catering multiple community
functions and providing the food to help en-
courage and facilitate partnership meetings here on Center, Clearfield Job Corps’ Culinary Arts students and instructors not only helped provide support for the Laughs at Lunch event, but won the award for the best soup for the second year in a row. The efforts and energy of the culinary arts instructors and students should be recognized as the gold standard for all de- partments on campus.

Clearfield Job Corps’ reputation and partnerships were both strengthened and reinforced by our participation in supporting this wonderful cause. For example, Ogden-Weber Chamber President Dave Hardman said “when people, whatever their challenges, receive assistance in finding employment, it creates a good environment and helps develop a sense of self-worth.”
