On Tuesday February 12, a group of students from SGA and SPARK were invited to attend MTC’s Groundhog Job Shadow event at the MTC Corporate Office. Eleven students attended, and were given a tour of the entire corporate office before being paired with a staff mentor. Mentors showed the students their individual role in the company, as well as gave them advice on advancing their careers, interview tips, and resume’ skills (students were asked to provide an updated resume’ for individual feedback). After their job shadow, students and mentors enjoyed a luncheon and talk from Regional Vice President Dean Hoffman. Staff and students had a wonderful time and were excited to continue their mentor-mentee relationships after the event ended. Students felt they greatly benefited from the one-on-one feedback and exposure to the corporate setting.
