On Friday June 16th seven students accompanied me (Thomas M. White) to Weber State University to assist with preparation for the Juneteenth celebration. Juneteenth also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day is a holiday in the United States that commemorates the announcement of the abolition of slavery in the U.S. state of Texas in 1865. We were there from 6 PM to 9 PM assisting with preparing signs and posting them indicating directions to the area where the advent was being held.
Ten students went to Juneteenth on Saturday to observe the celebration. They enjoyed themselves. There was no work to be done so they watched the performances which included My Church Male Chorus performing at the celebration. The celebration was educational and fun filled with various R/B vocalist performers from the local community and Church choirs. If you have any questions please contact me
