Clearfield Job Corps
Center (CJCC) celebrated
the 50th anniversary
of Job Corps at its National
Commencement
Day ceremony on August
22. Job Corps centers
across the nation
recognized the day with
a united graduation celebration.
CJCC welcomed
keynote speakers
U.S. Congressman
Rob Bishop and Clearfield
City Mayor Mark
Shepherd. The speakers
spoke of their support
for the students and
recognized them for
making positive changes
and achieving the next
step on the road to success.
Also in attendance
were representatives
from the offices of
U.S. Senators Orrin
Hatch and Mike Lee and
U.S. Representatives
Chris Stewart and Jim
Matheson. The 75 graduating students received
words of encouragement
and support
from the speakers
and also heard from
Amanda Gomez, student
speaker for the
graduating class. The
packed room of graduates,
family, friends
and staff then continued
the Golden anniversary
graduation
celebration with
gourmet refreshments
made by
CJCC’s very own
Culinary Arts students.
