Charleston Job Corps’ Career Services Director, Mrs. Jamela Brown, host’s The Modern Man Day.
This event consists of several males from the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. speaking to our young men on the topic of “The Modern Man”. The guest speakers were: Bobby Robinson, James “De” Walton, Rod “Rico” Bradley, Steven “SteveBo” Smith, Derrick Stotts, and Social Development Director, Brandon Brothers. Donovan Grooms, Student Government Coordinator, as well as a member of the fraternity, was also on site to assist with our tie tying contest. Each gave information regarding challenges and successes of being a man in modern day society.
During the event there was also a tie tying contest with the mentors and students. A group of volunteers decided to show their skills and were encourage to try one of 17 pictured knots to further enhance their skills. Each student participant was awarded a tie of his liking to keep for their career journey.
Charleston Job Corps would like to thank the “Omega Gents” for their assistance in making this event a huge success.
