Students from Charleston Job Corps career training programs do remodeling work
The Recreation leadership teams, Student Government Association, Youth-2-Youth Ambassadors and Leisure Time Learning Coordinator Joni Radcliff- Pena recently joined together to host a Grand Re-Opening Celebration of the Game Hall in the recreation building at Charleston Job Corps.
The game hall was completely remodeled by students from the Carpentry, Facility Maintenance, Painting and Network Cabling training programs. Each used their training program skills to lay
flooring, drop ceilings, create a sound booth, add electrical outlets, refinish the pool table and other tabletops, and so much more.
To kick off the celebration of the Grand Re-Opening, Charleston Job Corps held a spirit week May 6-10 to boost center morale. The
week line-up featured: Monday –
Favorite Sports Team Day
Tuesday – CJCC Pride Day
Wednesday – Twin Day
Thursday – Mix Match Clothes Day
Friday – Hat Day
On Friday, May 10, the dining hall staff provided a cook-out style lunch followed by a fun day with games, obstacle courses, water slides, a dunk tank, mechanical bull and much more.
Thanks to Recreation Manager Shenethea Mangrum for her hard work in making this event a huge success!
