Meeting with Chad Story from Senator Alex Mooney’s Office Feb 21

Meeting with Chad Story from Senator Alex Mooney’s Office Feb 21

The Business Community Liaison, Nancy Shepherd sent a request to the Office of Senator Alex Mooney in an attempt to schedule a meeting with the Congressman during the upcoming hill visit In March and was fortunate to receive a message from his District Director, Chad Story requesting a meeting.  The Meeting was held on Feb 21 at the Charleston office for Senator Mooney.
Story expressed an interest in a partnership to allow Charleston Job Corps students who are enrolled in the Office Administration trade the opportunity of Work Based Learning in their office.   Story is interested in having students for at least 12 weeks to insure the students are able to learn the system and perform adequate duties before having to train a new temporary assigned student.   The Work Base Learning will be without pay unless, the student is asked to work for an extended period after the 12 weeks.
Story said his interest in the Job Corps student is to offer individuals who are not normally selected for these internships the opportunity to build necessary skills and become acclimated in the business community.  Story said, college graduates who normally fill these positions, are more likely seeking training in the Legislative arena of which his office is merely that of a constituent.
