CJCC August Student Success- Franklin Burdette

Franklin Burdette-23 years old is a native of Greenbrier County, WV. He came to the Charleston Job Corps Center (CJCC) on February 9, 2015 with his High School Diploma from Maysville Community & Technical College. He completed the Office Administration trade in July 2015 under the direction of James Brown, Instructor.

Burdette completed his Work Based Learning (WBL) at Southmoor Hills Apartments, South Charleston WV. He was responsible for filing, answering telephones, work orders, shredding documents, using office equipment and demonstrating exceptional customer service to residents. Hard work and dedication is part of his character, as well as giving back through community service beautification projects.

We are pleased to announce Franklin Burdette has been accepted and will enroll in Glenville State College, Glenville WV on August 14, 2015. He plans to major in Business Administration. He will be the first in his family to attend college which makes this an exceptional accomplishment.

His future plans are to own his own business. He feels becoming an entrepreneur will give him a sense of pride and independence while helping others reach their dreams. His words of wisdom to current and future Job Corps students is “Have a sturdy mindset and don’t forget what you came to do. You can do it!”
