The Governor’s 11th Annual Civil Rights Day, Thursday, February 27, 2014, 10:00 a.m. at the Beni Kedem Shrine Temple, 100 Quarrier Street, Charleston WV 25301. The event is sponsored by State of WV Office of the Governor, Herbert Henderson Office of Minority Affairs, Charleston Police Dept., and the State of WV Human Rights Commission. Twenty-five individuals and one organization was recognized on this day “For dedicated service to the people of WV and their constant struggle for civil rights for all, we honor”: (list of honorees). Business Community Liaison, Tia Welch was asked to provide student volunteers from the Charleston Job Corps Center to assist the honorees and provide service during the luncheon and the choir to perform a selection accompanied by Mr. James Carter, Leisure Time Coordinator. CJCC has been a long time supporter of this event, and in times past hosted this celebration on center. We congratulate our Community Relations Council members Mr. Ralph Miller, Rev. Lloyd Hill, Ms. Tara Martinez and Cpl. Errol Randle who were honorees, and acknowledge the special recognition that was made to the late Judge Phyllis Carter who was Executive Director and member of the Community Relations Council. A special thanks to Ms. Mary K. Jacquet, Deputy Director, WV Human Rights Commission for allowing CJCC to continue to be a part of this celebration.
Charleston Job Corps Supports WV Civil Rights Day-Feb. 27, 2014
