Charleston Job Corps’ Student Government Association (SGA), served breakfast at a local soup kitchen called Manna Meal, in downtown Charleston for “Make a Difference Day”.
Upon arrival, recipients aligned the walkway awaiting entrance for what could unfortunately be, their only meal of the day. Serving and cleaning were the student tasks of which all showed understanding and compassion. Students were clearly affected by this experience and as a result have chosen to make this a monthly community service venue. Antoine Rowe, President of SGA stated, “This experience is very humbling and has made me more aware of the privilege’s I take for granted.”
