Charleston Job Corps Hosts its first Virtual Graduation Ceremony on June 25, 2021.
A total of 59 student graduates who completed the program from June 2020 through June 2021, were honored for their scholastic achievements during the ceremony.
Our Guest speakers included, the Honorable, Senator Shelley Moore-Capito (R-WV), Kim Knapp, Director of Bridge Valley Community and Technical College, Yvonne Giddings, Charleston Job Corps Alumni Graduate and Job Corps Hall of Fame Member, as well as Keynote Speaker, Jabbar Thomas, Lead Service Placement Specialist for WV Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF).
Each speaker encouraged students to do whatever it takes to fulfill their dreams. Senator, Capito also encouraged students to consider relocating to WV in hopes of them starting their future endeavors here in the wonderful state of West Virginia.
During the ceremony, three students received special recognition for the highest honors. Al Barraa Salih for Highest Grade Point Average, Fatoumata Diaby for Outstanding Academic Student, and Dejuan Hodge for the Most Improved Student.
