Charleston Job Corps Center’s Student Government Association elects officers

Dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic has brought a number of “firsts” to Charleston Job Corps – including the center’s  virtual election of the Executive Board of the Student Government Association.
Students elected Bryan Wurster as president, Ymari Pyatt, vice president, DeJuan Hodges as secretary, Priscilla Bower, as treasurer, Cierra Bailey as sergeant at arms, Kyesha Hayward as public relations, Talia Hawkins as committee chair and William Stevens as youth 2 youth ambassador. Wurster is the only returning member and previously served as SGA’s vice president.
These new officers are working remotely to help create a positive environment for their fellow students and keep them engaged. The SGA officers serve as liaisons between students and staff, offering words of encouragement, sharing students’ questions, comments and concerns with staff and brainstorming ways to make students’ return to campus enjoyable and as problem free as possible.

SGA President Bryan Wurster.
