The Charleston Job Corps Center (CJCC) hosted the Rotary Club of Charleston for their weekly luncheon meeting on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 12:00 noon. Forty-five Rotarians attended the event in the center gymnasium, where they enjoyed a catered lunch by A Cheerful Heart, of Charleston, WV. The meeting opened with president, Ben Beakes welcoming fellow Rotarians and thanking one of their own, Willie Brown, Center Director, for hosting the meeting and providing outstanding accommodations. Rotarian Ted Armbrecht introduced Cookie Glasser, who has devoted much of her life to the Job Corps program, to provide the history of the center in the local community. Glasser was followed by center director, Willie Brown, who thanked CJCC staff for their assistance with preparations for the meeting. Tours were provided by several key center staff. Several Rotarians complimented the staff, students, facilities and career technical training provided on the campus of Charleston JCC during their first center visit. Safety Cadets were on hand to provide parking assistance and direction to visitors upon entry and departure. A special thanks to everyone who helped make today a huge success!
