Charleston Job Corps Center Volunteers for Annual Thomas Memorial Hospital Kidoodle Kids’ Day-May 3, 2014

The Charleston Job Corps Center (CJCC) operating under Horizons Youth Services (HYS) participated in the 21st Annual Kidoodle Kids’ Day on Saturday, May 3rd from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the South Charleston Community Center. This event is free and for the children and their families to enjoy. Services included free dental, hearing & vision screenings, glucose & speech screenings, car seat safety checks, Jupiter Jump, DJ, clown, and much more. Educational materials and Thomas Memorial Hospital staff were on hand to answer questions and to help give away 500 bicycle helmets to the children.

“We are happy to provide this day for the children of our community and to help them learn about forming healthy and safe habits for a lifetime,” says Paige Johnson, Director of Marketing & Public Relations for Thomas Health System. CJCC Student volunteers include Francesca Wickline, Sara McDuffie, Tiffany Robinson, Nadirrah Wright and Stephanie Brown accompanied by Tia Welch, Business Community Liaison. This event is sponsored by The Foundation for the Thomas Memorial and Saint Francis Hospitals. A special thanks to Sandy Young, RN for extending the invitation for CJCC to participate.
