The Facility Maintenance (FM) Dept. at Hubbard Hospice House received much needed assistance with projects, thanks to CJCC student Mark Pollard, who is completing a work-based learning internship with the hospice organization for his facilities maintenance trade. Hubbard Hospice House, Facilities Maintenance Supervisor James Thayer stated he is impressed with Pollard’s professionalism, quality of work and commitment. Currently, Hubbard Hospice House is working with the carpentry program at the center for an upcoming project.
Job Corps is a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16-24 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training. Job Corps is in 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. The Charleston Job Corps Center is overseen by the Philadelphia Regional Office of Job Corps and is operated by Horizons Youth Services.
