The Charleston Job Corps Center (CJCC) operating under Horizons Youth Services (HYS) performed community service at WV State University on Friday, June 10, 2016 to prepare for the Summer Arts Camp. Four students Daylen Brightwell, Daronta Harper, Montez Smith and Phillip Cote participated. CJCC student’s set-up the dance floor, sound equipment and items for the camp.

WVSU has been a longtime partner and supporter of Job Corps. Students participate in community service and volunteer projects, attend theatre and choral events and sporting events on campus. Several students (including international) from Job Corps have attended and graduated from the university. We appreciate the invitation from Micah Peggs, Theater Facilities Supervisor and Edward Mucklow, Theatre Technician to participate.

Job Corps is a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16-24 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training. The Charleston Job Corps Center is overseen by the Philadelphia Regional Office of Job Corps and is operated by Horizons Youth Services.
