September Employee of the Month “Theodore Dues”

Congratulations to Theodore Dues, Charleston Job Corps September’s Employee of the Month. Mr. Dues has worked for the Charleston Job Corps since June 2013. A typical work day begins at 7:30 a.m. checking test results from the previous day, preparing for the students arrival for the day and reviewing diagnostics. When his shift begins by monitoring the hallways in the manager’s absence to ensure the students are in their classrooms.

Mr. Dues was selected as the September Employee of the Month because he always goes above and beyond with his interaction with the students and the impact that he has on their lives. He finds it very rewarding to see students reach their TABE goals and earn their certifications, which is very different from teaching at the collegiate level.

Dues began his teaching career in 1982 as a college instructor. He was also an attorney for 28 years. Empowering youth to understand the opportunities that exist for them is very important.
