About 225 students and staff watched an excerpt of the video “Alcohol: True Stories Hosted by Matt Damon” with an opportunity for dialogue following. Alonzo Hall said, “April is Alcohol Awareness Month. We are here to bring awareness to the issue.” S.A.D.D. Chapter members include Alonzo Hall, Ameir Lewis, Philip Holcomb, Sarah Lynch, Mychael Maria Peterson, Airona Walker, Tierra Burrell and Anthony Daly.
The S.A.D.D. Chapter is sponsoring a Poster Contest until the end of the month. Winners will receive cash for first place: $40, second place-$30 and third place-$25. Students desiring further information regarding alcohol awareness are encouraged to contact the center’s wellness dept., online resources and S.A.D.D. Chapter. Job Corps is a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16-24 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training. The Charleston Job Corps Center is overseen by the Philadelphia Regional Office of Job Corps and is operated by Horizons Youth Services.
