CJCC students from the S.A.D.D. (Students Against Destructive Decisions) chapter volunteered along with Tia Welch, Business Community Liaison who is a member of the Fair Shake Network. Students were greeted by Delegates Jill Upson and Mike Pushkin during the ice cream social who are both Job Corps supporters.
According to its website, “The Fair Shake Network is an association of West Virginians dedicated to the belief that diversity makes our communities stronger. People with disabilities have the right to live, work, and play in their own homes and communities. The Fair Shake Network provides training and systems advocacy on issues affecting people with disabilities through statewide, grassroots, cross disability activities.”
Every year the network serves ice cream during the legislative session with the help of several volunteers. Special thanks to Paul Smith, FSN for providing students with community service.
