Facilities Maintenance students were responsible for removing debris, cleaning areas, landscaping and preparing flower beds for beautification. Ms. Seen stated, “They did a wonderful job.” Students involved in the community service projects include Brandon Freed, Corey Green, Rashaud Lumpkins, Kevin Martin, Mark Pollard, Naseer Richardson, Christian Robinson, Da’Sean Moore, Antonio Outlaw, Jermaine Ortiz, Lucas Neely, Larnie Williams and Deigo Molina.
Earth Day will be officially observed on Saturday, April 22. The first Earth Day was in 1970. The theme for Earth Day 2016 is Tree Planting. Job Corps is a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16-24 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training. The Charleston Job Corps Center is overseen by the Philadelphia Regional Office of Job Corps and is operated by Horizons Youth Services.
