uth Services, held its graduation ceremony on March 4, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. in the center gymnasium with guest speaker Carl Chadband, Chief Operating Officer, Kanawha Institute for Social Research & Action, Inc. (KISRA). The ceremony opened with the national anthem rendered by Frances Shearin, Counselor. Andrew Walters, Career Services Director welcomed graduates, family, students and staff to the commencement. Presentation of colors was provided by the center’s safety cadets under the direction of Gary Evans, Safety Officer. Sermario Wiggins, Training Director served as master of ceremony.
Tanika Beverly, Academics Manager, introduced the guest speaker for March 2016 commencement. Carl Chadband encouraged attendees, “Never let anyone’s expectations for you be higher than the expectations you set for yourself.” Chadband is an alumni of Job Corps and serves on the Community Relations Council. Willie Brown, Center Director said, “I am always delighted to see young professionals come to this point in their career path.” CJCC Choir performed under the direction of James Carter, Leisure Time Learning Coordinator. Conferring of diplomas was conducted by center director, Willie Brown and training director, Sermario Wiggins.
Student graduates include Shamariah Brown (Certified Nursing Assistant-C.N.A), Lonnie Dixon (Painting), Jasmine Franklin (C.N.A), Bryan Green (Carpentry), Jasmine Holland (C.N.A), Saqueena Jackson (Dental Assistant), Jerrad Johnson (C.N.A), Dora Lendos (Office Administration-OA), Bre’ Asia Lewis (OA), Shanequa Lewis (OA), Yvelle Louis (Facilities Maintenance), Audrey Liggins (Network Cabling & OA), Ciara Parham (C.N.A), Devaughn Rice (Facilities Maintenance), Christopher Snodgrass (Facilities Maintenance), Justin Smith (Pharmacy Technician) and Christian Tedford. The ceremony closed with alumni induction by Tierah Williams and closing remarks by center director, Willie Brown.
