In observance of National Women’s Day, Charleston Job Corps Center held a Women’s Fashion Show to honor the women of our center on Saturday, March 9.
Area Vendors from the West Virginia’s Black Women Owned Businesses agreed to provide the clothing of which students would model during the Fashion Show. Our National Women’s Day Fashion Show is a way to acknowledge and honor the women of Charleston Job Corps Center.
The venders were Tina Beatty, The Apostle’s Closet, Consandra Leonard, Silhouette Boutique and Nellie Ford, Paparazzi Jewelry.
Most students were a little nervous prior to the show however, with a little support and encouragement, were able to go out in front of their peers and become true fashion divas. Which is why we celebrate women’s day. To build, encourage and support one another.
International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
International Women’s Day is all about unity, celebration, reflection, advocacy and action – whatever that looks like globally at a local level.
