The Charleston Job Corps Center (CJCC) operating under Horizons Youth Services (HYS) held its annual student and staff Christmas luncheon on Monday, Dec. 12, 2016 in the cafeteria. Staff from various departments were on hand to serve the meal prepared by Thomasina McKinney, Food Service Manager and staff.
Raymond Blust, Finance & Administration Director said, “Every day we work to support students and change lives. The student and staff holiday luncheon is another way to say, ‘we care’ and we are committed to showing it.”
The menu items included turkey, ribs, stew beef, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, yams, rice, dressing, gravy, dinner rolls, cherry cobbler and sweet potato pie. Christmas will officially be observed on December 25, 2016. Student departure for winter break will be December 15, 2016.
Job Corps is a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16-24 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training. The Charleston Job Corps Center is overseen by the Philadelphia Regional Office of Job Corps and is operated by Horizons Youth Services.
