The Charleston Job Corps Center (CJCC) operated by Horizons Youth Services (HYS), participated in National Groundhog Job Shadow Day on Friday, January 31, 2014. Leadership student’s job shadowed at U.S. Senator Joe Manchin, U.S. Senator Jay Rockefeller, and Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito, Charleston District Offices. WV Secretary of State, Natalie Tennant, Delegate Nancy Guthrie, and Dr. Carolyn Stuart, Executive Director of the Herb Henderson Office of Minority Affairs hosted students at the State Capitol Complex while others job shadowed at the YWCA Sojourner’s and affiliated sites with Ms. Deloris Thompson. Student participants included Chelsea Co, Maryann Minor, Isis Hill, Tyneshia Perry, Kevin Williams, Julien Brown-Basnight, Jonathan Flowers, John Miller, Hunter Campbell, Bernard Holmes Jr., Christian Farmer, Jose Cruz Garcia, and Demetrius Gomillion under the direction of Mrs. Tia Welch, Business Community Liaison.
