Yasmine Mickel completed the Office Administration Trade in 2018 where she received certifications in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Excel. Mickel was enrolled in high school in Erie, Pennsylvania while caring for her ailing mother. The stress of the situation caused her grades to suffer so she decided to come to Charleston Job Corps Center to make her mother proud by doing better with her life. While on the center, Mickel was very active and attended many extra-curricular activities. Mickel wanted to stay engaged and productive, while the most important thing to her was completing her trade.

Mickel is now employed at Trust as a Collections Representative. Mickel is enrolling in college in the spring semester and preparing to take on her next journey with hopes of moving up the corporate ladder.

Mickel says, “the Job Corps structure prepared me for the real world. I am now accountable for my actions, I learned the value of hard work, dressing the part, and the importance of punctuality. Job Corps prepared me to live out my dreams in spite of my failures.”
