Bryan Wurster joined Charleston Job Corps in an effort to find employment. He attended BridgeValley Community and Technical College after high school while still working full-time at the Mardi Gras Casino. He was aware that he needed specific skills, but he didn’t want to incur debt in order to get them. When Bryan’s mother then told him about the Job Corps Program, He called and determined that this was the perfect opportunity for him.
Bryan finished carpentry and network cable installation while attending Charleston Job Corps. He reasoned that learning two technical trades would provide him with more possibilities to pursue a career that paid a living income.
As a traffic and construction protector, Bryan is currently employed with Area Wide Protection. He expresses his gratitude for the training he received at Job Corps and claims that Job Corps has improved him as a person by enlightening him about the value of independence. When asked what benefit Job Corps provided him, He declared, “It improved me and made me a better man.” Bryan offers current and prospective students the following words of wisdom: “You can do anything in life if you give your complete body, soul, and mind to it.”
