Cassadaga’s young women have found a partner in the National Association of Women in Construction Buffalo Niagara Chapter.  We attended the first ever Tradeswomen Summit and during the event the members vowed to invest in the next generation.  President Marie Patton and board members went above and beyond in that commitment. NAWIC invited our students to participate in two events in celebration of Women in Construction Week.  The first event was a Networking Coffee Hour at the Burchfield Penney Art Museum.  Students met with women in their field for breakfast, networking, proclamations from elected officials, and a tour of the Burchfield’s art installations.  We concluded the event with a walk through at an active commercial construction site at the Buffalo State University.  The second event was Build Her Future and entailed a walk through of two industrial construction sites, a tour of Northland Training Center, lunch and a panel discussion with some of the most powerful women in construction from the Buffalo Niagara Region.  Our young women left inspired and ready to follow their dreams on the path less taken.
