Cassadaga welcomed Jamestown Fire Department along with Job Corps Alumni Tony Garcia.  They provided an informative presentation about civil service opportunities within their organization, how to apply, and read through civil service postings.  Alumni Tony Garcia then spoke to the students about his journey from the Dominican Republic to NYC to Cassadaga Job Corps many years ago. Garcia spoke to the importance of trusting the process and making a commitment to oneself to be better and do better even if it means passing a test by only 1 point.  The JFD toured the trade classrooms following the assembly.  Garcia who still works as a plumber was reminiscent of his years in the classroom and spoke to the instructor to make sure we are teaching our students up to date practices.  The group also inspects all buildings in Jamestown to ensure building codes are met and spoke to the groups in their classroom to ensure they are studying their code books.
