Cascades Students Raise Money for Japan

Cascades Students Raise Money for Japan

During the month of March, students of the Business Technologies and Carpentry trades joined forces to raise money for the crisis that unfolded in Japan. Students sold imported candies from Mexico, held a bake sale, and a contest. The contest consisted of five willing staff parties to agree to dress up in a chicken costume and lead the Chicken Dance at the April awards assembly in front of the student body. Lucky Sean Prouty, Health Services Manager won the contest  by having the most funds collected in a jar that was put out at student paydays and in the staff lounge. A total of $620 from all the efforts was collected and donated to the US Bank, Northwest Disaster Relief Fund for the victims of Japan’s earthquake, and a wonderful musical kick off held in honor of spring and hope of a brighter future for our friends across the Pacific.
