Carville Job Corps Center hosted an informational assembly and awareness fair regarding the dangers of tobacco usage and second hand smoke. Representatives from: Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center-Our Lady of Lake Hospital, American Lung Association, and Louisiana Primary Care Association attended the event. Each agency set up an exhibit where students and staff could tour and get screened for carbon dioxide levels. The center’s TEAP Specialist held a Kick Butt Day Walk-a-Thon on center to help students and staff KICK -the- HABIT (Smoking)!!! Over 40 staff and students participated in the Walk-a-Thon.
